Historic Upton would  like to kick off Black History Month by celebrating some of our own.  Our rich community is full of brilliant minds that are poised to make a change the world.  As we kick off Black History Month 2022, meet one of  our homegrown History  Makers: DeJuan Hicks a proud alumni of our Congressman Cummings Upton Fellowship sponsored by Wells Fargo.
 
“My name is DeJuan Hicks, and I graduated from the illustrious Morgan State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Information Science and Systems. Since my graduation in 2019, I have worked on contracts as an IT Analyst serving customers including Northrop Grumman, Accenture, and the Department of State. As a cross functional analyst, I  controlled the asset management system for both foreign and domestic stakeholders.”

“I am currently working with FEMA on their COVID-19 funeral relief team as a Documentation Validation Analyst. In this role, I manage the system responsible for maintaining and updating hundreds of thousands of applications for Americans across the country who have lost loved ones due to the novel coronavirus. As an IT specialist, I have become proficient in working with various process control and management systems.
